EEF Evolution Team Events

The European Equestrian Federation (EEF) is committed to inspiring the growth and accessibility of equestrian sport across Europe. The EEF Evolution team competitions sit at the heart of this mission, introducing a modern format at lower-level international shows that helps horses and riders gain valuable experience while making team competition more accessible across a wider range of categories.

Recognising the limitations many National Federations face in hosting multiple Nations Cup events, and the importance of team competition for rider development, the EEF Evolution League provides a dedicated team format within CSI, CSICh, CSI1*, and CSI2* shows. In Jumping, three competition levels are offered:

  • Children’s Tour
  • Medium Tour (riders aged 14 and over)
  • Big Tour (riders aged 15 and over)

Teams may include riders from different nationalities, allowing federations shows with fewer combinations to still offer riders meaningful team experience.

The format is delivered through selected events each season, with qualifiers leading to a final, and is designed to expand across disciplines, with Dressage competitions also being introduced for mixed teams across pony children, junior, young rider, and senior categories.

Alongside rider development, the EEF Evolution League supports education and progression for officials. Judges, stewards, and course designers are given structured opportunities to gain experience through mentoring, seminars, and on-site learning with senior officials, helping strengthen officiating standards across Europe.

Through this combination of inclusive team competition, rider development, and official education, the EEF Evolution League contributes to a stronger and more accessible future for European equestrian sport.
