Open letter to UEF President

Open letter from the EEF President to Andriy Milovanov, President of the Ukrainian Equestrian Federation

Dear Mr Milovanov,

We are deeply saddened by the events currently unfolding in Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with you and hope that you, and all members of the UEF, remain safe during these devastating times. If we can provide any support or refuge to your members, and equine partners, through our wider member network, please do not hesitate to ask.

Sport has been a longstanding beacon of peace and unity, providing countries with an opportunity to practice fair play and sportsmanship, traditionally without a role in politics. However, we cannot stand by and witness these deplorable actions and feel that as a sport, we should unite together. In Europe we believe in equality, democracy, and rule of law, and we must place these at the forefront of our actions as we move forward in these uncertain and difficult times.  

On behalf of the EEF and its member nations, we express our commitment to you, to do all we can to support and honour the values of our and your society and protect the freedom and safety of those within it.
