EEF strengthens workforce with new Sport Development and Communication hires

Zaventem Belgium, February 2022 - The EEF is delighted to announce they have bolstered their in-house team with the hire of Teodor Sheytanov as a Sport Development Manager and Alice Ward as a Communications Manager.

Teodor joins from the Bulgarian Equestrian Federation where he served for over 9 years as their Secretary General. Joining the EEF as a Sport Development Manager Teodor will provide dedicated service to the National Federations and manage specific development projects across Europe. This includes the EEF Brotherhood programme, which aims to build a collaborative network of information share across the National Federations and FEI Solidarity projects. The role has been created in partnership with FEI Solidarity and will involve close collaboration with the FEI to provide resources for each National Federation’s development needs. Teodor’s experience made him a standout candidate having previously worked as an event director of the Balkan Championships, chef d’equipe of the Bulgarian Jumping team, and Secretary General of the International Jumping Officials Club. In addition, Teodor has personal experience of the EEF Brotherhood program both as a donor and receiver and his vast experience within equestrianism has provided him with clear insight into different challenges facing the sport today.

Speaking of his new role Teodor said

I am very excited to join the EEF. I believe in this role I can make a big difference to help the sport in Europe, working with the National Federations to identify their needs and provide support for development to ensure we are all well placed to deal with future challenges

Alice Ward

Communications Manager

Alice Ward has started as a Communications Manager, aiding the promotion of the EEF’s work and internal communication across all our member federations. Alice has previously worked across a number of global sports properties including the Tour de France, Wimbledon Championships and FC Barcelona. Most recently Alice was part of the commercial team at the FEI, specifically managing the division 1 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™, allowing her to join the EEF with strong background knowledge of the current sports governance model and the Longines EEF Series. Alice’s role will focus on increasing the level and frequency of our communication with members, promoting the relevant sporting events within the continent, and building relationships with media partners to strengthen the voice of the EEF.
