The European Equestrian Federation (EEF) welcomes the appointment of EEF Board Member Klaus Roeser (GER) to the newly formed FEI Dressage Working Group. This prestigious appointment recognises European expertise in the strategic development of international dressage.

Roeser, who serves as the Athlete Representative on the EEF Board, brings significant experience to this important initiative. As Chairman of the German National Federation Dressage Committee and Secretary General of the International Dressage Riders Club (IDRC), his selection reinforces the strong connection between European dressage expertise and global sport development.

"Dressage faces both challenges and opportunities as we look to the future," said Klaus Roeser. "This working group brings together diverse expertise at a crucial time when our sport needs a change in public perception.

“As an EEF Board Member, I'm particularly committed to ensuring that we develop a strategic vision that serves everyone in our sport, from grassroots to elite levels, while preserving the classical principles that make dressage unique, keeping core values and horse welfare at the fore. We must develop strategies that not only address current challenges but also build a stronger foundation for the next generation of riders".

The Working Group, chaired by George Williams (USA), will develop a comprehensive strategic Action Plan for Dressage, focusing on establishing a clear vision and creating actionable plans to enhance the sport at all levels. The group includes other European expertise, including Olympic champion Monica Theodorescu (GER), six-time Olympian Kyra Kyrklund (FIN), and French judge Raphael Saleh.

The EEF looks forward to contributing to this important initiative through Roeser's participation, ensuring that European perspectives and expertise help shape the future of international dressage. The Working Group will present its first findings at the FEI Sports Forum on March 31, 2024.
