EEF Secretary General meets at the European Commission
The EEF Secretary General, Manuel Bandeira de Mello, was received last 14th February at the European Commission (EC) by the Presidents Assessor, Mrs. Servulo Correia.
In the Agenda two points were discussed.
Firstly, what where the chances for the EEF to get access to EU funds for it´s development in various areas, such as to sport and development and secondly the official request to schedule a meeting with the EC President Mr. Barroso.
Regarding the first topic, it was informed to the EEF Secretary General, the official ways to seek for the best EU programs for funding in a sports organization, which is trough the EC Commissionaire for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Mrs. Androulla Vassiliou, which at the same time handles sport. The EEF will start contacts with the Commissionaire, in order to establish an official relationship and to try to apply to the EU funds.
On the second issue, the request for a meeting with the EC President was taken officially, due to the very busy agenda of the President no dates where assumed for it, the request was very well accepted.
