The objective is to create conditions for transferring experience in the field of the horse industry between European countries. Works and activities designed within the framework of project co-financed by the European Union Social Fund realized by Polish Equestrian Federation and EEF “Human Resources for Horse Industry” shall contribute to the partners’ getting acquainted with new organizational solutions applied in the horse industry and make it possible for them to take advantage of each other’s ready-to-use solutions of ‘good practices’ worked out in other European countries, as well as to developing a strategy for developing the horse industry over the next years in Europe.

Discussion panels – objectives

Panel A

Development of equestrian sports

-          Raising equestrian sport in Europe to a higher level across the board over the coming years and contributing in this way to the expansion of equestrian sport in all the European countries united in the EEF.

-          Differences in the level of equestrian sports development in different countries

-          Collaboration between the various countries in order to be able to develop equestrian sport further within Europe. Support of countries – on to another.

Panel B

Breeding for equestrian sports:

- functioning of organizations dealing with horse breeding,

- subordination of breeding to the ministries of agriculture, whose interests and objectives are separate from those of sports federations,

- necessity for co-operation and exchange of information between the two organizations

Panel C

Education in horse industry

- educational systems for different groups of people working for the horse industry (trainers, officials, vets, riders)

- preparation of riders, trainers with regard to guaranteeing an adequate level of preparation of horses for different level competitions

- The training system required for the purpose of preparing horses for a given level

- small number of persons who could be trained and who could provide training to others later on. Both of these issues can be solved only through co-operation with neighboring federations, in particular when they are better developed.

Panel D

Cooperation between Federations and financing:

-          How can Federations cooperate in the field of horse sport training, organization, and experience exchange. Often it seems hard to find a solution to arising problems, but the desired effect can be achieved if communication and negotiations are conducted soon enough.

-          funds for the operations of a sports associations, with regard both to covering the costs of the ongoing management, such as the costs of the maintenance of facilities, employees, etc., and to raising funds for the development of the sport. What are the possibilities to obtain EU funds and what kind of funding we could Federations apply in co-operation with each other.
